Vintage Hair & Makeup Glam at Disney
What better way to end the week than by talking about one of our favorite bridal looks: vintage glam! We love that, no matter how many years have passed, hair and makeup inspired from the 1920's - 1950's remains a beauty look that many of our gorgeous brides continue to choose for their wedding day!
Here are the key features that we focus on to make our brides look like they just traveled through time!
Eyes:
If you have ever looked at photos of models from this era, you'll instantly notice that they all have the most stunning eyes with the longest eyelashes you've ever seen! We recreate this look by adding false eyelashes and a winged liner to our bride's eyes. Then, depending on our bride's desired bridal look, we'll either pair this with a delicate neutral eyelid for a more classic look or we'll add some more Hollywood glam with a sultry smokey eyelid.
Lips:
Is there anything more recognizable than vintage-inspired lips? We guarantee you that if you were to ask anyone what color lipstick you would wear for this kind of look, they would tell you, "why, red of course!" without a second's hesitation. They wouldn't be wrong! Bold red lips are an absolute staple for a vintage-inspired look but if you aren't a bright red kind of gal, never fear! Dark purples and deeper reds were also very trendy for this era!
Hair:
We LOVE vintage hairstyles! They're such a fun look for us to recreate and we have yet to find a bride that wasn't an absolute vision with them! There are a few different designs that were highly popular between the 1920's to 1950's but the most memorable would have to be Victory Rolls. Victory Rolls can be styled dramatically, like what you're used to seeing on vintage pin-up models or smaller rolls typically paired with a soft curl which are much more subtle. Another iconic hairstyle for the 1920's and 1930's was the finger wave. We love styling these because they are elegant with the just the right amount of flair and for our vintage-inspired brides wanting to wear their hair up, we usually will recommend a chignon-style that has either a finger wave design or soft curl paired with it.
